Spring/Sumer ’16
Concert Season




Rutter: Gloria

Kensington Brass perform John Rutter’s Gloria, along with the fantastic community choirs of Wiltshire, including the South Wiltshire Grammar School. A delightful opportunity for the group to head west and play this staple joyful repertoire!
 
Quintet Recital

Kensington Brass will be performing their uniquely arranged collection of music, from the Baroque through the ages, interspersed with classic Brass Quintet pieces that have paved the way for these ensembles to reach the fore of modern day Chamber Music making. Designed with something for everyone in mind, the programme highlights the versatility of brass instruments and showcases the talents of individual members.
We are delighted to be joined by the talents of Mick Lessiter to make this a really unforgettable evening!
 

Easter Sunday Eucharist

Westminster Abbey

Easter Sunday presents a very exciting performance for the ensemble in the magnificent Westminster Abbey. Repertoire will include John Scott’s Missa Dies Resurrectionis and Widor’s Surrexit a mortuis. A glorious service not to be missed.


London Marathon 2016

Kensington Brass return for their 4th year at coveted cheer spot along the River Thames. Come along and cheer with us in the final mile of the race!

London 10k 2016
Monday 30th May, 10am-1pm
Birdcage Walk, St. James’ Park

The ensemble, in connection with the London Marathon have been invited again to the 10k with their rousing batch of morale boosting sports hits! Come along and cheer with us, as we are proud to include this event among KB’s charity donation.




























RideLondon FreeCycle

Birdcage Walk, St. James’ Park

Join us in this cycle-for-all event around the iconic streets of Westminster, cheering on the pros, the families, children and the costumed cyclists at our 2nd visit to this exciting event!

Kensington Brass Dectet give an eclectic concert of two halves, performing music from the Baroque, Orchestral, Film music and Jazz repertoire in a special concert that really does have something for everyone. All professionally arranged by the group, the music showcases the versatility of Brass instruments and the talents of individual players. You won’t hear this delightful range of original music from anyone else!

HMQ90 and Choral Evensong

Saturday 12th June, 11am, 3pm

Southwark Cathedral


Sunday June 12th saw a quintet from Kensington Brass help the congregation of Southwark Cathedral to celebrate the Queens official 90th Birthday. Following the 11am service KB entertained the crowds, while they enjoyed their picnic lunch, with some light jazzy numbers. At 3pm KB joined the Cathedral Choir for a rousing service of Choral Evensong in celebration of the Queens 90th, the highlight being Parry's 'I was glad' and of course, 'God save the Queen' to finish off the celebrations!

Festival Art Fair

Kensington Brass sent the Quintet to play throughout the day at this magnificent festival in the glorious sunshine of Hampstead. With celebrity endorsement from Frank Skinner and his son Buzz, plus having sketches of the group drawn as we played, this was an afternoon of fun for the local community and London art lovers.
